Clearly Whimsy Stamps NEW RELEASE - Day 2

Hi everyone and welcome to Day 2 of the
Clearly Whimsy Stamps October 2014 release

We are releasing 7 new clear stamp sets and 5 dies/die sets this week, and they are available to buy from the Whimsy Stamps store RIGHT NOW and selected Whimsy Stamps retailers tomorrow!

This month we are thrilled to welcome Michelle Short and Lisa Henke as our Guest Designers. Welcome ladies! We are so happy that you are joining us for this release!

Today we are revealing the Gingerbread House 4x6” stamp set and the Gingerbread House die set, the Gingerbread People 3x4" stamp set and the Gingerbread People die set, and the Sparkle & Shine 4x6" stamp set.  Hop on over to the Whimsy blog for more details.

For today's card I used both gingerbread stamp sets and both gingerbread die sets.  I started by heat embossing the outline gingerbread house in white onto brown card, then I cut it out using the gingerbread house die.  I then used this die set to cut out the chimney, windows, roof and ric rac, and glued them on.  I stamped the candy cane door surround from the gingerbread house stamp set in red onto white card and used the corresponding die from the gingerbread house die set to cut it out, then glued it onto the house.  The little gum drops and peppermint candy dies are from the Gingerbread People die set.  Finally I heat embossed the sentiment from the Gingerbread People stamp set in white.

PRIZE ALERT ... We have hidden a fabulous prize of a $15 GIFT CERTIFICATE at one of the stops on today’s hop! We will draw the lucky winner from the comments left on today’s design team posts (listed below), so be sure to visit everyone and leave a comment to be entered into the draw:

Clearly Whimsy Stamps new release: Penguin Fun & Tremendous Triangles

Hi everyone and welcome to the first sneak peek day of the
Clearly Whimsy Stamps October 2014 release

Over the next 3 days we will reveal the new October 2014 Clearly Whimsy Stamps products. We are releasing 7 new clear stamp sets and 5 dies/die sets this week, and they will be available to buy from the Whimsy Stamps store TODAY and selected Whimsy Stamps retailers on Saturday.

Denise is running a special promotion until Sunday 2nd November, and has discounted everything in this release by 10%!!  Whimsy also offers FREE SHIPPING for US orders over $75.

This month we are thrilled to welcome Michelle Short and Lisa Henke as our Guest Designers. Welcome ladies! We are so happy that you are joining us for this release!

Today we are revealing the Penguin Fun 4x6” stamp set and Tremendous Triangles 4x6” stamp set, together with the coordinating Penguin Fun die set and the Tremendous Triangles die set. Hop on over to the Whimsy blog for more details.

I made a scene card using both stamp and die sets being showcased today.  I also used one of the dies from the fabulous and very versatile previously released Stitched Border Trio die set (I used the wavy border die, but made sure the stitched edge was facing away as I didn't want a stitched edge for this card!)

My second card was a lot quicker to create.  I stamped my penguins and sentiment from the *NEW* Penguin Fun stamp set onto a piece of white card.  Layered it onto some pink card, and then added it to a white card base with strips of washi tape along each edge.  The tiny litte bow die is from the *NEW* Gingerbread People die set (being showcased tomorrow), and the heart die is from the previously released Coffee Cup die set:

I'm a 2015 British Craft Awards nominee!!

http://www.britishcraftawards.com/

Today I received a very exciting email from the lovely people at Cardmaking & Papercraft magazine to tell me that I am one of the short-listed nominees in the Favourite Card Designer category of the 2015 British Craft Awards! Eek! I feel so honoured to have been nominated – thank you so very much!

The awards are hosted by Cardmaking & Papercraft, Quick Cards Made Easy, The World of Cross Stitching and Cross Stitch Crazy, and they are asking UK crafters to vote for their favourite shop, products, people and blogs. Voting is online and everyone who votes will automatically be entered into a prize draw to win £200 worth of craft goodies.

I certainly don’t expect to win, as I am up against the UK’s best card designers, but I am beyond thrilled to even have been nominated! If you would like to vote for me (pretty please with a cherry on top, lol!), a huge THANK YOU!!! To vote, please visit http://www.britishcraftawards.com/

Thank you so much for poppng by!

Doodlebug Kraft in Color 6x6 paper pad

Doodlebug Sprinkles
White & Clear embossing powder
Bazzill cardstock
Whimsy Stamps Thanks word die

Whimsy Stamps Stitched Tags die set
Clearly Whimsy Stamps Basic Borders & Backgrounds 1 stamp set

I was looking for some new (to me!) challenges on Friday and came across Tag You're It Challenge #8.  I really loved the muse card by TYIC Designer Lisa Arana, and so I decided to have a go and CASE the layout of her card.

I used the pencil stamp and a sentiment stamp from my SugarPea Designs Teacher's Pet stamp set. I love this set so much, and it is perfect for making CAS cards! :)

I added some stamped and white heat embossed chevrons to the tag, and also applied 3 layers of clear embossing to the thanks word die-cut.  I could have used glossy accents, but I couldn't be bothered to wait for it to dry, lol!

Thank you for stopping by today!

CAS(E) this sketch 96: Happy Happy Happy

As soon as I saw this week's CAS(E) this Sketch! challenge #96, I couldn't wait to play along! It's such a fabulous sketch!  I already have lots of other ideas of how to use it, so I am very thankful this particular challenge runs for 2 weeks so I can play again!  I rotated the sketch 90 degrees to the left.

I also followed the colour palette at ColourQ Challenge #262, although I did use more of a hot pink rather than "Pretty in Pink" since this is the only pink embossing powder I have!

First, I stamped the stripes from the Clearly Whimsy Stamps Basic Backgrounds & Borders 1 stamp set vertically several times in black ink onto my 148x105mm white card base. I then cut a piece of white cardstock and stamped the 3 different sized balloons from the Clearly Whimsy Stamps Happy Everything stamp set in grey ink. I then stamped more balloons in Versamark ink and embossed them with WOW pink fizz glitter embossing powder.  The balloon string and the HAPPY sentiment stamp also come from the same stamp set.  Finally, I trimmed the panel by cutting around the balloons and  mounted the panel onto the stamped base card with foam pads!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Hugs.
