TAWS August Release Day 2: Everyday's A Holiday

Hi everyone! Welcome to Day 2 of The Alley Way Stamps Augst 2015 release!

We are sneak peeking the *NEW* Everyday's A Holiday stamp set today, which will be available to purchase from The Alley Way Stamps store at 10pm (mountain time) on Friday 31st July!

Everyday's a Holiday is a 4x6" clear stamp set full of holiday themed accessory stamps for the cute penguin character from one of the other stamp sets being released this month - Penguins on Parade. I LOVE this month's release so much!  Who doesn't love penguins anyway, but penguins that you can dress up to be different animals and characters?  The possibilities are endless!

First, I stamped the penguin character from Penguins on Parade onto my Copic colouring paper.  I then stamped the sweater from Everyday's a Holiday and added a tree and bauble (from the same stamp set) to the centre of the sweaters.  I masked the sweater and then added the middle of the penguin's body. Then I added the reindeer antlers and party hat from Penguins on Parade.  I coloured them all with Copic markers and then fussy cut them out.  I created the starry background using my Memory Box Starry Nights stencil and some Tim Holtz Distress ink in Pumice.  I added a sentiment from Everday's a Holiday and then popped up my penguins with foam pads, and it was done!  My very first personal Christmas card of 2015!! :)

If you hop on over to today's sneak peek post on the The Alley Way Stamps blog, you will be able to see the rest of the team's awesome Everyday's a Holiday sneak peek cards, plus there is an opportunity to WIN this fantastic stamp set! Be quick, as the contest is running for today only and will close at 7pm mountain time tonight (that's 2am tomorrow morning for my UK friends!).

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

TAWS: Pac Man

Supplies
TAWS Old School stamp set
Memento Tuxedo Black ink
Copic markers: Y04 Y13 YR61 YR20 BG01 BG11 R24 RV02 V01
Versamark ink
WOW! Embossing Powder: Opaque Bright White Super Fine WL01SF
Bazzill cardstock: Blackberry Swirl

Happy Saturday everyone!  As soon as I saw the TAWS Old School stamp set, I knew I had to make a pac man inspired card.  When our parents bought our very first computer (BBC ... remember those?), one of the games we had was "pac man".  My brother and I were obsessed with this game. He was much better at it than me, but it still remains one of my favourite computer games from my childhood (along with Galaga!).

I took a 148x105mm piece of Bazzill Blackberry Swirl cardstock and stamped the little trio of dots from Old School in versamark ink twice, then heat embossed them with white EP.  I stamped the pac man and the ghost image onto some of my Copic colouring paper, added the eyes, coloured them and fussy cut them out. Finally, I added them to the card front using foam pads for dimension.  A very quick and simple card!

My Favorite Things Die-namics: By the Letters

Happy Wednesday everyone!  Today I have a TAWS thank you card to share that I made with the fabulous cacti stamps from the recently released Cha Cha Cha stamp set.  This is such an awesome stamp set with so many great images!  I masked and stamped the cacti in brown ink instead of the usual black.  The letters were die cut from some woodgrain paper, and I then stamped the "gracias" sentiment from the same stamp set.  I recently bought the new Lawn Fawn Stitched Borders die set, and so I used one of those to add some stitched detail to the bottom of my white panel.

Hi everyone!

I have a new The Alley Way Stamps card to share today using the awesome Slurp stamp set from the June release together with a sentiment from the Express Yourself stamp set from our July release.

I took a 105x148mm piece of Bazzill Coconut Swirl cardstock and masked off a 65mm square using post-it notes.  I then inked the square using Picked Raspberry and Dusty Concord distress inks.  I stamped the darling milkshake stamp from Slurp, coloured it with Copic markers, and fussy cut it out.  I added some Stardust Stickles to the cream for some dimension and sparkle!  The sentiment is made up from a Sweet word die-cut from black glitter paper and the "friend" stamp from the Express Yourself stamp set.

I followed CAS(E) this Sketch! #132 for my layout and used the scrumptious colour combination at Color Throwdown #351.

TAWS: Galaga Love!

Supplies
TAWS: Old School stamp set
Memento ink: Tuxedo Black, Dandelion
Versamark ink
Copic markers: B24 R27 Y08
Bazzill cardstock: Blackberry Swirl

Hi everyone ... I'm BAAAAAACK!!!  Thank you so much for all your emails and messages of concern.  For those of you who don't know, our daughter underwent an emergency appendectomy at the end of May and unfortunately there were a few complications in her recovery, hence my long absence.  However, I'm so glad to report that she is so much better now and back to school, which is a huge relief!

Today I have a card to share using one of the amazing stamps from the July TAWS release - Old School.  This is such a fantastic stamp set with so many possibilities for all the game nerds in your life!  I followed the fab sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch #131 for my layout and tried to create the old school 1980s Galaga game, hehe!  I really wanted to create this card using coloured embossing powders onto black card, but as I didn't have the correct colours to hand, I had to settle for stamping and colouring.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
